Tax Help
AICEE helps all its employees to file annual tax returns. You may consult our HR department with regards to this at hr@aicee.org Our Human Resources department does not charge anything for assisting you in filing the returns.
Personal taxes have to be filed by April 15th 2006. If you are on a salary structure (and not a stipend) then you need to file your return to get back your refunds (if you are eligible)

The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)
SEVIS  basically collects information from F, M & J visa visitors (including dependents) during the course of their stay in the United States.  Please keep AICEE Manager informed about your entry/exit data, changes of current United States address (residence), program extensions, employment notifications, and changes in program.

Social Security Card
AICEE will assist you in getting your Social Security Card.  This card/number is required to be employed in US. For certain period before you begin your employment you may not have a card and your documents will say “Applied For” so you will be paid.

  1. Please try to find the nearest Social Security Office to your residence address in US. The information can be had by entering the 5-digit zip code at the following page Social Security Administration or by contacting them at the toll free number 1800-772-1213.
  2. Please confirm the days and times the office is open and visit the office. It may take you 1-4 hours at the office. Your AICEE Manager can assist you with the appointment but you will have to schedule this in advance.
  3. You will required to take the following documents:
  4. When you leave the Social Security Office make sure that you have the receipt of your application. On receiving the card immediately provide a copy to your manager.
  5. You may face some problem in the process of getting your Social Security Card in case of following situations but do not worry as all this can be sorted.
    • The information on your I-94  might not match that on your passport.  You should have taken care of this at the port of entry when you entered US. The officer at Social Security Office will now guide you as to what to do further. 
    • The information on your DS2019/I-797 might not match that on passport.
    • Your information in the computer system of Social Security Office or BCIS (INS) might not be correct. For this you may be required to visit the Social Security Office every week. However you might be required to visit some other office of Citizenship and Immigration Services for the same. Social Security Office will give you the information. AICEE Manager will assist you in fixing an appointment or visiting the office.


I-94
The participants are advised to make sure that all the information on their I-94 is correct when they enter US. Please get it corrected if required.

Housing
AICEE will provide you with housing from the very first day you enter United States so long as you are legally participating in AICEE Programs. Our housing is fully furnished

Opening Bank Accounts
AICEE staff will assist you in opening bank accounts. If required you will be taken to the bank for the first appointment. The official bank of AICEE is Bank of America.
